We build and publish apps for TVs, phones and the web.

For teams that need an app done properly. We take it from the first scope to store approval, then keep it running after launch. Media and video apps are our speciality.

Platforms

Five platform families, used from three distances. Each app gets an interface designed for how people actually use it: across the room with a remote, in one hand, or at a desk.

Across the room remote & D-pad

01

Smart TVs

Samsung Tizen LG webOS

  • Remote-first interfaces with deliberate D-pad focus: every press lands where people expect, and the focus is readable from the sofa.
  • Video through the TV's own hardware decoders, tuned for older and lower-memory models.
  • Packaging, signing and submission to Samsung Seller Office and LG Seller Lounge, through every review round.

02

Android TV, Google TV & Fire TV

TVs, set-top boxes and streaming sticks

  • Native Kotlin apps designed for the remote: D-pad focus, launcher banners and layouts that stay inside the TV-safe area.
  • Playback on Media3 (ExoPlayer): adaptive streaming, subtitles and audio-track switching.
  • One codebase for Google Play and the Amazon Appstore, built to each store's TV requirements.

Android phones & tablets

From small phones to large tablets

  • Kotlin and Jetpack Compose interfaces that adapt from small phones to tablets, in portrait and landscape.
  • Background playback, picture-in-picture and media controls in the notification shade and on the lock screen.
  • Google Play releases: app signing, testing tracks, staged rollouts and the Data safety form.

04

iOS & iPadOS

iPhone and iPad

  • Native Swift and SwiftUI apps with layouts for iPhone and iPad, and support for Dynamic Type.
  • System video playback with picture-in-picture, subtitles and background audio.
  • App Store submission: beta builds for testers, App Privacy details, and review notes with a demo account for the reviewers.

05

Web apps

Any modern browser, desktop or mobile

  • Fast, accessible web apps, and the admin dashboards that run your service, for keyboard, pointer and touch.
  • In-browser HLS and DASH playback with subtitles and adaptive quality.
  • Deployed to the edge, for example on Cloudflare, with no store review between you and your users.

Capabilities

Everything an app needs to reach its users and stay in front of them. Hire us for the whole run, or for the part you're missing: publishing an app you've already built, for example.

How an engagement works

Six stages, the same on every project. You see working builds early, and nothing reaches a store until it has played on real hardware.

  1. 01

    Scope

A short discovery call, then we agree what the app must do, which screens it runs on and what done looks like.

You getA written scope, a platform list and a milestone plan.

  2. 02

    Design

Interfaces shaped for each screen: remote-first on TV, touch on phones, keyboard on the web.

You getScreen designs, a clickable prototype and a focus map for TV.

  3. 03

    Build

The app and its backend, in short iterations you can try as we go.

You getRegular test builds and access to the code repository.

  4. 04

    Test on real devices

On the TVs, remotes, phones and tablets people actually use, not only emulators.

You getA device test report and a release candidate.

  5. 05

    Publish

Store submission and review, on your own developer accounts.

You getListings, privacy disclosures, content ratings, reviewer access, and the app released.

  6. 06

    Maintain

Updates for new OS versions and store policies, fixes and new releases.

You getA maintenance plan, with releases handled for you.

Common questions

Short answers to the questions that come up first. For anything else, email hello@bufferpoint.net.

01Who owns the code and the store accounts?

You do, under the written agreement for your project. The code, designs and assets we make for you are yours, and your app is published on your own developer accounts, so the listings stay in your hands whoever maintains the app later.

02Can you publish under our own developer account?

Yes. We help you open and verify your developer accounts on Google Play, Samsung Seller Office, LG Seller Lounge, the Amazon Appstore and the App Store, then publish and manage releases with the access you give us.

BufferPoint LLC publishes its own apps under its own developer accounts.

03Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We're happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share the details of your project.

04How do you quote a project?

Every project is scoped on its own. After a short discovery call, we send a written proposal for that scope, so you know exactly what's included before any work starts. We don't publish a rate card.

05Where are you based, and which time zones do you work in?

We're a Wyoming company based in Sheridan, Wyoming. We work remotely with clients worldwide, in English and French, and set call times that suit your time zone.
