This notice covers this website and our business communications. It does not cover our apps: each app we publish has its own privacy policy, available from its store listing and website.
01Who we are#
bufferpoint.net is the website of BufferPoint LLC (“BufferPoint”, “we”, “us”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, filing ID 2026-002082152. We develop and publish apps, our own and our clients'.
For the personal data described in this notice, we are the controller: we decide why and how it is used.
- Principal office and mailing address: 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States
- Privacy questions and requests: privacy@bufferpoint.net
Full company details are in our Legal Notice.
02What this notice covers#
This notice applies to:
- this website, bufferpoint.net, including the project brief form on our Contact page;
- emails and other business communications with people who contact us, and with our prospective and current clients and partners.
It does not apply to:
- Our own apps. Each app we publish has its own privacy policy, available from its store listing and website.
- Apps we build for clients. Those apps follow the client's privacy policy. When we handle their users' data while building, testing, publishing or maintaining an app, we act only on the client's instructions under a written agreement, as their processor or service provider. Questions about such an app should go to the company that publishes it.
- Other websites we link to, which have their own policies.
03What we collect#
When you visit this website
This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To send you a page and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data that comes with every request:
- your IP address;
- your browser and device type, as sent in the user agent;
- the address of the page requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the date and time of the request.
We use this data only to deliver and secure the site. We have not turned on Cloudflare Web Analytics or any other analytics, and we don't use request data to identify or profile visitors.
When you contact us
If you email us or use the project brief form, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, email address, company, details of your project and any attachments.
The project brief form does not send or store anything by itself. It composes an email in your own mail app, and nothing reaches us until you press send there.
Email sent to an address at bufferpoint.net is received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to our mailbox provider, where we read and keep it.
When you work with us
If you become a client or partner, we keep business records: proposals, contracts and statements of work, invoices, payment details (such as the bank or payment-processor details needed to pay or be paid) and our correspondence. These records usually include the names and work contact details of the people we deal with.
On your device
If you switch between the light and dark theme, the site saves your choice in your browser's local storage (under the key bp-theme) so it can remember it. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
04What we don't do with your data#
- No cookies of our own. We don't set any. If Cloudflare ever needs to show a security check, for example while the site is under attack, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as
cf_clearance) used only for that check. - No analytics, advertising or tracking. No tracking pixels, session recording or social media plugins.
- No third-party requests. Every font, image and script is served from bufferpoint.net itself. Nothing is embedded from other sites.
- No selling or sharing. We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it to target ads.
- No automated decisions. We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Because we don't track visitors over time or across websites, and don't let anyone else do so on this site, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don't change how the site works. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing.
05How we use it and why#
We use personal data only for the purposes below. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the data protection law there requires a legal basis for each purpose; ours are shown in each item.
- To reply to you and prepare proposals. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, or otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work.
- To perform client and partner contracts: building, publishing and maintaining apps, communicating about the work and invoicing for it. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep our books and meet tax and other legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To keep this website and our email secure and working, including preventing abuse and attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and the people who use them.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
We don't send newsletters or marketing emails.
06Who receives it#
We share personal data only with the following recipients, and only as far as each one needs it:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts and protects this website and routes email sent to our addresses.
- Our email and productivity provider, which stores our mailbox and working documents.
- Payment processors and banks, to send and receive payments for invoices.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers and insurers, who are bound by confidentiality.
- Authorities, such as courts, regulators, tax authorities or law enforcement, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect our rights or someone's safety.
- A successor, if BufferPoint is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of its business. We will give notice before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy notice.
Our service providers process personal data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it and to use it only to provide their service to us.
07International transfers#
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your personal data is transferred to the United States when you write to us or visit the site.
Where the law requires it, we rely on our providers' transfer safeguards, such as certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (with its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask privacy@bufferpoint.net for more information about these safeguards.
08How long we keep it#
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
| Data | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that don't lead to a project | 24 months after the last message, then deleted |
| Client, partner and contract records, including invoices | For the duration of the relationship, then as long as tax and accounting law requires, up to 10 years |
| Cloudflare request logs | Short-term, under Cloudflare's own retention periods. We keep no copies |
| Theme preference | On your device until you clear it |
We may keep specific records longer if we need them to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, or if the law requires it.
09Your rights#
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete it;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests;
- receive the data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format (portability).
How to exercise them
Email privacy@bufferpoint.net, ideally from the address you used with us. We may ask for information to confirm it's you before we act. We respond within one month. If a request is complex, we may need up to two more months; if so, we will tell you why within the first month. Requests are free. You may also ask someone to make a request for you, with your written permission.
European Union and United Kingdom
You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work. In the EU you can find yours on the European Data Protection Board's list of members; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We'd appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
California
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to delete and correct it, without being treated differently for asking. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about anyone. The categories we collect are those described in What we collect: identifiers such as your name, email and IP address; commercial information such as contracts and invoices; and internet activity such as page requests.
10Security#
We protect personal data with measures suited to the risk. This website is served only over HTTPS, with HTTP Strict Transport Security and a strict content security policy, and it has no database, accounts or logins. Access to our mailbox and records is limited to the people who need it for their work.
Email is not end-to-end encrypted, so please don't send passwords or other credentials by email. When a project needs access to a store account or a test login, we agree a secure way to share it.
If a security incident affects your personal data, we will tell you and the authorities when the law requires it.
11Children#
This website and our services are meant for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to privacy@bufferpoint.net and we will delete it.
12Changes to this notice#
We update this notice when the way we handle personal data changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so clearly at the top of this page.
